Then they need a little direction on their talking too. Loved how Jamison said the one we saw at PetSmart was 7 feet long.  Love how Campbell tells him to stay.

Resolutions

Of course everyone makes resolutions for the new year.  I decided to go a little crazy this year and take two year long classes at Big Picture Classes. The first one is Move More, Eat Well.  Cathy Z is sharing our experience of getting out and moving more and eating well plus documenting it all year.

To help me move more I purchased one of these. If you have one of these, let me know I want to link with you so I can compete.  I am doing good for my Nike Fuel as I have exceeded my daily goal by 50 to 75% every day.  But what I don't understand is what they use to measure how active you are. Yesterday I walked with Tammy for an hour, walked on both my 15 minute breaks for the full 15 minutes and they tell me I was "Active" for 11.59 minutes. My last two pedometers told me I walked at a moderate pace most of my walking time. And when I walked with Tammy it was 34 degrees with 10 mile winds. When we walked facing the wind we were not slow. So how hard do I have to work to get more active than 11.59 minutes?  Get one and tell me.

Since January 7th I have been moving at least 30 minutes a day.  I have also been to Jazzercise a couple of times. I need to get there regularly though. I am going to work on that. Eating well yeah not so much. I am a stress eater and work is stressing me out but that is for another day! Next time!

Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday

Okay these days are not working for me.  I promise I will post 3 times a day but you are just going to have to check in during the week to see when it is. I thought about going to Sunday, Wednesday and Friday but then yesterday was Wednesday and that didn't work out for me either.  Three days but I can't say which ones. Sorry.

Birthday Parties and Date Night

Saturday was a busy day for one of us. Jamison had two birthday parties to go to. Luckily they didn't overlap by too much. Our friends and neighbor have a little boy Ryan who started in Jamison's Kindergarten class with him. But 3 weeks into the year they decided that 25-26 students is too much for each kindergarten class so they were opening a 4th group.  Ryan was moved to the new teacher. But both boys still consider the other best buds. So Jamison had this party over lunch they played games and lunch at their house.  We left a little early to make it to the next party. Bowling at Cadillac, when we got there Jamison was mobbed by the rest of the party. He had so much fun and felt so special by having two parties. That is something Campbell has never done. 

So Saturday night, Jamison wasn't hungry since he had so much cake.  Brian and Jamison decided they would have soup at home. Campbell and I were going to McD since it was the 3rd night we had been tempted by it.  I love one on one time with the boys. Campbell told me about the new girl at school. What they are studying and just the little things going on at school. we weren't sitting there for very long when the gentleman who took our order walked over and offered us a mini McFlurry that they made by mistake. We got dessert on date night too. Next time I have to go with Jamison.

Thursday's Post

My Thursday's post didn't get posted. It was jinxed! I wrote it twice before putting Jamison to bed and both times I was trying to link a website and lost my post.  Oops. It's okay though you all didn't miss much. I was ranting on the fact that they have canceled the only show I was watching regularly. Up until November I was watching it when it came on Sunday night at 9.  Leverage was my only series that I watched and now they cancelled it. So that was a synopsis of my Thursday post.

My New Car

Here is my new car. A Subaru Legacy. Anyone know someone that needs a car for a teen driver? The Elantra is small so you can't put many people in it. 

Meet Zeus

This is Zeus. He is only about 6 inches long. This was right after he was put into his new home.. I think he is adjusting well. Today he actually ate some carrots and a little bit of orange.

I'm Back

Welcome to 2013 (a couple days late)! I plan to post this year 3 times a week: Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday so hold me to it!

The start of the new year has already been news filled for our family.  I started out on December 29 buying a new car.  After 3 hours in the car dealership we made a deal on a White Pearl 2013 Subaru Legacy. With the All Wheel Drive I hope that I no longer get stuck in our street when we have heavy snow fall.  It is so much quieter to drive then the Elantra it is amazing.

Then on January 3 we traveled to Cedar Rapids to get a Bearded Dragon for Campbell.  He wanted one for Christmas but since you can't wrap and animal and keep it like that for 3 days with out food we had to wait until after Christmas. Then our local PetSmart has been out of Bearded Dragons since then.  Zeus joined our family and is settling in rather well. He is about six inches long and skinny. (I'll post a picture shortly) They say these are very social and after seeing one in the Pet store I do believe it.

Friday I took my friend of mine to Rochester MN for her last Chemotherapy session. Such a sad reason to get together but the trip was fun! I love when you can visit for longer than 5 minutes. She had to be up there at 7 so we left our house at 4:30. I was more awake than I thought I would be at that time. I think I shocked Dana too. Today there was a fundraising picnic dinner for her. It was heartwarming to see the crowd of people that come out to show their support when you are hit with something like this. Community is truly a blessing.

So I hope the rest of my year brings as many joys as this week has.  See you Tuesday!
